In November, PEIN participated in a study visit to the Departement de Nord in Lille, France, under the Side by Side Project of the European Social Network. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration among social service agencies across Ireland, France, Austria, and Italy. Organised by Tusla, the Irish lead agency, the visit emphasised Prevention, Partnership, and Family Support (PPFS).
The Irish delegation, including Tusla staff, representatives from the DCEDIY, and from PEIN, engaged in a comprehensive program led by the Departement de Nord Childhood, Families and Health Directorate. The visit included detailed briefings on the EU and national contexts for service delivery, insights into the French Child Protection system, and policies on child protection and domestic violence. Delegates visited various agencies and a major children’s and maternity hospital and participated in cross-delegation workshops. This study visit provided valuable insights and reinforced collaborative efforts to improve European child protection and early intervention services. Click Here for the full report.
