Our beloved Hands Up for Children mascot, Peinny, has been hard at work investigating the promises made by political parties on their Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) commitments.

With the upcoming election, every party has been highlighting its priorities—but how many of them have concrete plans to invest in our children’s future? Peinny is on a mission to hold them accountable, diving into their manifestos and shining a light on promises that could transform childcare, education, and family support services in Ireland.

Prevention and early intervention programmes are the foundation for a healthier, more equitable society. By addressing issues early in a child’s life, we can ensure better outcomes in education, mental health, and social inclusion.
