The recently published Children’s Rights Alliance (CRA) Report Card 2026 offers a timely and important assessment of how Ireland is delivering for children and young people.

In our response, we welcome the progress made, but highlight a familiar challenge: demand for services continues to outpace capacity, and too often systems respond at crisis point rather than through early, coordinated support.

If we want different outcomes for children and families, prevention and early intervention must move from being a priority on paper to becoming the foundation of how services are planned, funded and delivered.
